Pre and Post Natal Exercise
Jacqueline is a frequent presenter at local Health Centre’s and has forged close links with health visitors, midwives and G.P.’s. Widely respected in her field, an Advanced Instructor in Pre and Post Natal Exercise Prescription and a registered Instructor with the Guild of Pregnancy and Postnatal Exercise, she supervises appropriate training sessions to see mums through pregnancy, early motherhood and beyond.
Women planning a pregnancy may wish to revue their lifestyle; making adjustments as necessary to optimise their health. Avoiding alcohol and smoking, finding out about vitamin supplements, getting vaccinations up to date, and maintaining a healthy weight may all be considered. Establishing a regular exercise routine will also be beneficial during this time. Jacqueline assists women preparing for pregnancy by ensuring they are in great physical condition prior to conception.
There are numerous benefits for mums who exercise regularly throughout their pregnancy. Formerly an Antenatal Teacher for the National Childbirth Trust Jacqueline combines her specialist knowledge, professional expertise and “hands-on” experience as a mum to deliver safe and effective training for this special time in a woman’s life.
Postnatal exercise promotes a sense of well being, retrains slackened abdominal muscles, improves posture, reduces lower back pain, assists with weight loss and helps tone and tighten muscles stretched by pregnancy. During the postnatal period mums can opt for one-to-one sessions, group training (with “Mums on a Mission!”) or a combination of the two; ensuring full rehabilitation following childbirth.
